WHAT DO WE DO?

HAVING LIVED IN SOUTHEAST ASIA FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND WORKING IN THE MEDIA, WE’VE SEEN A LOT OF BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD BUSINESSES.

Websites that don’t work or don’t have the basic information that visitors want. Hotel photography that doesn’t reflect the actual experience of staying at a property. A social media presence that’s either too full-on or completely non-existent. And some of the copywriting we’ve seen appears to have been transformed into English by Google Translate.

With decades experience in writing, photography, filmmaking, print publishing, web design, multimedia, and social media, we decided it was time to start the Grantourismo Media Company to help businesses and organisations in the fields we love to communicate more effectively.

With years of experience in all the above fields, we’ve started the Grantourismo Media Company to help your business or organisation communicate effectively. We can help you with everything from a customised class in social media to a full blown website with our sparkling copy, editorial-style photography and a beautiful website design that not just looks stunning, but will look stunning on every device.

Terence Carter, co-creator of Grantourismo Media, a Full Service Digital Media Agency.
TERENCE CARTER
TERENCE STARTED HIS MEDIA CAREER AS A TECHNICAL WRITER AND PHOTOGRAPHER AND AFTER SEVERAL PROMOTIONS WENT ON TO MANAGE THE DESIGN AND PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT OF ONE OF AUSTRALIA’S LARGEST PUBLISHERS.

Terence studied film, photography and multimedia at the University of Technology, Sydney, while playing in pop bands and making films with his wife, Lara Dunston in his spare time.

With a contract to design a large corporate website in hand, Terence moved to Abu Dhabi in the Middle East, where Terence worked in the academic department of the UAE’s (United Arab Emirates) university system creating learning materials for students and eventually redesigning the university’s websites nation-wide. Terence also completed a Masters Degree in Media Studies with University of Leicester during this time.

With a web design business partner in Dubai, Terence created websites for schools and corporations, before the lure of travel writing and photography took over, working on titles for Dorling Kindersley, Lonely Planet, Thomas Cook and Footprint as well as numerous travel and food magazines which he still does to this day.

A year-long round-the-world travel project, Grantourismo, starting in 2010, saw Terence get back to designing and coding websites, with groundbreaking Grantourismo going on to be regarded as one of the best travel websites in the world.

Now settled in Siem Reap, Cambodia, Terence is using all the skills amassed over his career to start Grantourismo Media where his primary role will be looking after web design and development, photography and video production.
